Sub Space: The Revelation
Here is the synopsis of a novel I'm thinking about writing. Note: the time sequence of this narrative is not necessarily consecutive. That is what happens when a person puts ideas to electronically-represented paper.
Earth is broken. Its king has stepped down. The Aenidians are forced to leave their home-world in search of a better life. These people, considered the rulers of earth after all other states meet demise, offer benevolence and blessedness to all people. However, humans resist the Ways of Benevolence and abide in greed and cruelty instead. In addition, they prefer anarchy over control, even if control offers protection. Earth is broken; it becomes a mass of weapon-making facilities and warring clans. Thankfully, though, these clans lack the intelligence to create weapons-of-mass-destruction. Intelligence has looked up into the sky and traveled thither.
In the outskirts of the galaxy known to Man, a new civilization is chartering an Interplanetary Alliance of Human Beings (IAHM). The beginning efforts pass smoothly and without resistance. However, there are some who disagree with the emphasis placed and law and order; indeed the charter members place justice in highest esteem. Some say that true justice is found in the heart, not in law. But the charter has its way, and the Alliance is established, granting amnesty to those who disagree. But the amnesty offers little protection to those who resist, and the Alliance finds itself in the thick of controversy.
Traveling among the galaxy known to Man, the Aenidians stumble upon a startling discovery: there are no habitable planets left to choose from. Many are simple mining colonies owned by rulers of other planets others are refuges for criminals, planets devoted solely to the purpose of making weapons. To settle on an existing colony the Aenidians would be forced to give up ruling power, and waging war on a planet without just cause would be out of question. Out of options, they find a planet named “Desolate” by galaxy cartographers and make a startling decision to tame it. World Taming: a process used to tweak the atmospheric and terrestrial conditions to mimic Earth, a process one would never have thought to use on a wasteland of a planet. Nevertheless, the Aenidians undertake world taming, and make a startling discovery in the process.
As a result of the squelched resistance against the Alliance, the Noblemen are born, building a mobile city and leaving the supreme planet of the IAHM. In consequence, an interstellar campaign is launched and the Alliance and Noblemen are entrapped in the heat of battle. Finding themselves overwhelmed, the Noblemen must resort to advanced and dangerous scientific advancements in order to preserve survival. Work commences on a portal in space, indeed, a portal through space and time, work considered foolishness by the Human race. Finally, entrapped in their home worlds by a ring of foes, the Noblemen must make a decision.
Antimatter fuels the inner core of Desolate, renamed Desire by the Aenidians. This substance is not natural, but an intervention by the Aenidians to keep the planet’s core from collapsing. There is a magnetic buffer housing the core, but its generated energy effectively repels harmful radiation from the planet, promoting life and well-being. The wasteland becomes a paradise of water and sun and trees. But the Aenidians will not enjoy their longer lifespans for long, for the effects of antimatter peak the interest of the Noblemen, and correspondingly, the Alliance. Soon, parleys are made to the Aenidians from both sides, and the galaxy known to man finds itself in the biggest conflict ever.
And so it begins...
